About SSC CGL

SSC CGL is the short form of Staff Selection Commission – Combined Graduate Level. SSC CGL is an exam counducted by SSC every year to recruit the staffs for various posts of Group B and Group C in Ministry Department and Organisation of Government of India.

SSC CGL is one of the important Government exams of India for the graduate level students, who want to do Government jobs in India.

History of SSC

In 1975, the Government of India constructed a commission called Subordinate Service Commission (SSC) and late in 1977, it was renamed as Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

SSC conducts various examination to recruit the staffs for various posts of Group B and Group C in Ministry Department and Organisation of Government of India.

The headquarter of SSC is located in New Delhi and there are seven Regional offices at Allahabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern

In 2022, SSC conducts SSC CGL in two phases known as Tier 1 and Tier 2. Tier 1 and 2 are computer based tests (CBT).

SSC CGL 2022 Exam Pattern For Tier 1

SSC CGL Tier 1 is known as SSC CGL Preliminary. The SSC CGL Tier 1 is a Computer Based Test (CBT). The exam pattern of SSC CGL Tier 1 is as below:

SSC CGL 2022 Exam Pattern For Tier 2

SSC CGL Tier 2 is known as SSC CGL Main. The SSC CGL Tier 2 is also a Computer based Test (CBT). The exam pattern of SSC CGL Tier 2 is as below:

Notes:

1. Tier-II will include conducting of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III in separate shift(s)/ day(s).
2. Paper-I is compulsory for all the posts
3. Paper-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these Posts.
4.Paper-III will be for only those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for Paper-III i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.
5. Paper-I will be conducted in two sessions – Session –I & Session-II, on same day. Session-I will include conducting of Section-I, Section-II and Module-I of Section-III. Session-II will include conducting of Module-II of Section-III. Therefore, duration of Session-I will be 2 hours and 15 minutes and duration of Session-II will be 15 minutes only.

SSC CGL 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of SSC CGL 2022 are as below:

Nationality/Citizenship

A candidate must be either: an Indian, OR a Nepalese, OR a Bhutanese, OR a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962.

OR a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age

The SSC sets age eligibility criteria of SSC CGL 2022 for every post. In general, the minimum age of a candidate applying for SSC CGL 2022 must be 18 years and maximum age must be 32 years. [As on 1st Jan, 2022].

The age of the applying candidates is considered according to the Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate only.

The age criteria for different posts are below as on 1st Jan 2022:

Thus, the age of applying candidates for the different posts as on 1st January 2022 must be as following table:

(i) For age group 18-27 years Date of Birth not earlier than 02-01-1995 and not later than 01-01-2004.
(ii) For age group 18-30 years Date of Birth not earlier than 02-01-1992 and not later than 01-01-2004.
(iii) For age group 18-32 years Date of Birth not earlier than 02-01-1990 and not later than 01-01-2004.
(iv) For age group 20-30 years Date of Birth not earlier than 02-01-1992 and not later than 01-01-2002.

Age Relaxation

The age relaxation of the candidates other than General categories is as below:

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification of different posts of SSC CGL 2022 is as below.

1 Assistant Audit Officer Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University OR
Desirable qualification: CA/CS/MBA/Cost&Management Accountant/Master in Commerce/Master in Business Studies
2 Statistical Investigation Grade – II Post Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University with 60% in Math in Class 12th OR
Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University with Statistics is one of the subjects.
3 Compiler Post Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective Course.
4 All other posts Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University

Note: The candidates who are appearing in the final year of graduation can apply, however they must possess the qualification as mentioned above on or before 1st January 2022.

SSC CGL 2022 Application Form

The application form of SSC CGL 2022 were closed on 8 October 2022.

How To Apply SSC CGL 2022 Application Form

SSC CGL 2022 application form is submitted in online mode only. To apply the online application form of SSC CGL 2022, the candidates do the following instruction in step by step:

Step 1: Candidates need to read SSC CGL 2022 official notification on SSC official website https://ssc.nic.in/ To get official notification of SSC CGL 2022, click here.

Step 2:  Candidates must apply online through the website http://www.ssconline.nic.in.

Step 3:  Candidates should read the instructions given in the Notice of Examination carefully before filling up the online one time ‘Registration Form’/ Application Form.

Step 4:  After reading the instructions, candidates should move to the Registration Part and fill up the online Registration Form.

Step 5:  In the Registration Part, candidates will have to fill in basic information relating to them like name, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, date of birth, category, permanent address, etc. 

Step 6:  Candidate should provide all the required details while filling up the Online Registration/ Application Forms. Mandatory fields are marked with * (asterisk) sign.

Step 7:  On submission of the Registration Form, Registration ID and password will be provided. Note down the Registration ID and password and keep them safely. 

Step 8:  After submission of the Registration Form, candidate should upload his/ her latest colour photograph and signature. The photograph and signature must be uploaded in jpg format.

The digital size of the photograph must be more than 4 KB and less than 20 KB. The digital size of the signature must be more than 1 KB and less than 12 KB.

Photo and signature must be clearly visible and photo must be identifiable also. Applications with blurred photo/ signatures will be summarily rejected.

Step 9:  The Registration becomes complete only after the photograph and signature are uploaded by the candidate.

Step 10:  After completion of the Registration Part the candidates should proceed to fill up the Online Application Form.

Step 11:  Candidates already registered can omit instructions given from Step-1 to Step-10 above and can directly login to the system using their “Registration ID” and “Password” and proceed to fill up the Application Form.

Step 12:  In case, there is any discrepancy in ‘One time registration’ data filled by the candidate, photograph/ signature, etc., ‘One time Registration’ data may be suitably edited before proceeding to fill online application form.

The commission allows editing of information like name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender and matriculation roll number only once after Registration. Therefore, these fields MUST BE ENTERED/ EDITED VERY CAREFULLY. Other fields in the ‘One Time Registration’ can be edited once before every examination but prior to submission of Application for the Examination.

SUCH EDITING IS ALLOWED BEFORE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION. ONCE THE APPLICATION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED, NO CHANGE IN ‘One Time Registration’ and Application data will be allowed.

Step 13:  Candidate should thoroughly check all the entries filled in the online application form, before final submission. In case of any discrepancy, relevant entry may be corrected/ edited. After final submission of online application, no change in any particular shall be allowed.

SSC CGL 2022 Application Fee

Step 14:  After filling online application, the candidates are required to make fee (Rs. 100) payment.

Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.

Fee can be paid through SBI Challan/ SBI Net Banking or by using Visa/ Mastercard/ Maestro Credit/ Debit card.

Step 15:  On successful fee payment, your application will be complete and will be accepted provisionally. You may take printout of this application for your own record but you are not required to submit this printout to the Commission.

SSC CGL 2022 Admit Card

Before starting the SSC CGL 2022 Exams, SSC releases the admit card in Tiers-wise. It means SSC releases the admit card for SSC CGL 2022 Tier 1 exam.

The candidates can download the SSC CGL admit card on the official website of SSC and take its printout.

After declaring the SSC CGL Tier 1 result, SSC releases the admit card for SSC CGL 2022 Tier 2 for those candidates who cleared the Tier 1 exam.
