About CAT Exam
CAT is an acronym for Common Aptitude Test. CAT Exam is a national level entrance examination for taking admission in Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and other top management college of India for the courses of MBA, PGDM and other management courses in India. It is a computer based test (CBT). CAT Exam scheduled annually and conducted by one of the 20 IIMs on rotational basis.
History of CAT Exam
Before 2009, CAT exam exam was conducted on paper basis. From 2009, CAT exam has been conducting Computer Based Test (CBT). Initially, the responsibility of CBT based CAT exam was taken by an American company PROMETRIC from 2009 to 2013. But due to technical issues on server during the CAT exam, the conducting responsibility by PROMETRIC was aborted. Since 2014, the CAT exam has been conducted by TCS (Tata Consulting Service).
CAT Exam 2019 Important Dates
The important dates of CAT exam 2019 are given below. It is taken from its official websites of conducting body of the examination.

CAT Exam 2019 Eligibility Criteria
As per official eligibility criteria of conducting bodies of CAT, the candidates who follow the following parameters are eligibility for CAT Exam 2019:
Qualification: Candidates must completed his/her Bachelor’s Degree (B.A., B.Com, B.Sc. BCA and other bachelors degree).
Minimum Marks: Candidates must qualify the above degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks for SC/ST/PwD categories).
Appearing Final Exam 2019: Candidates who are appearing for their final exam in 2019 and waiting his/her results can apply for the CAT Exam 2019.
Age: There is no age bar restriction in the CAT examination.
CAT Exam 2019 Application Form
The application form filling of CAT Exam 2019 can be completed by the following steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website iimcat.ac.in and then click REGISTRATION FOR NEW USER. A registration for user profile form will opened.
Step 2: Enter your personal details like Name, Age Qualification, Location, Address, mobile number, Email ID etc. The mobile number and email ID must be verified by OTP.
Step 3: After verification of Mobile number and Email ID, the candidate get the login credential to login for application process.
Step 4: After login in step 3, CAT 2019 Application form will appear.
Step 5: In CAT 2019 Application form, the candidates will have to enter personal and contact details as well as details about their academic qualification, work experience, preference of program and exam center etc.
Step 6: After completing the personal details, the candidates need to scan scanned images of their recent photograph, signature and category certificate (SC, ST, NC-OBC and PwD category).
Step 7: Check all the details carefully that you enter and then click SAVE & CONTINUE.
Step 8: After that the candidates need to pay the application fee using Credit/ Debit card, Net Banking and Cash Card & Wallet. For This candidates need to fill the necessary fields with payment details on the bank page and save the receipt of the online transaction as proof of payment.
Step 9: After successful submission the CAT 2019 Application form, the candidates will receive an email related to the status of application form. Take a print out of the application form for further correspondence.
CAT Exam 2019 Application Fee Details
The registration process of CAT Exam 2019 is completed after the successful payment of its application fee, which are as below.
For General/OBC Candidates: Rs. 1800
For SC/ST: Rs. 900
For PwD: Rs. 900
CAT Exam 2019 Admit Card
From the second week of October 2019, the candidates who completed their CAT Exam 2019 application form successfully, can download their admit cards from the official website of CAT. The conducting body of CAT will not send hard copies of the hall ticket by post. To download the CAT Exam 2019 admit card, follow the following steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website iimcat.ac.in and login with his credential.
Step 2: Click on Download Admit Card to access the hall ticket of CAT Exam 2019.
Step 3: The downloading process of admit card will start and please check his details and take a printout of this admit card.
CAT Exam 2019 Exam Pattern
CAT Exam 2019 is a computer based test and it is a single day with two session exam. The exam pattern of CAT Exam 2019 is as below.

There will be NO NEGATIVE negative marks for subjective type questions, For MCQs type question, ONE MARK will be deducted for the wrong answer.
CAT Exam 2019 Result
CAT Exam 2019 Result will be declared by the conducting body in the second week of January 2020. The results will be announced on the official CAT website. The CAT Exam 2019 Result will contain the sectional and overall marks and percentile obtained by the candidate in the exam. To get the CAT Exam 2019 Result, do the following steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website iimcat.ac.in and Click on download CAT 2019 Result.
Step 2: Enter your User ID and Password to get the CAT 2019 Result.
Step 3: Download the CAT 2019 Result and take print out copies for future reference.
CAT Exam 2019 Syllabus
In CAT exam pattern, there are 3 sections in the paper.
Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension Syllabus
In this section I, the questions are the topics of Verbal reasoning, antonyms and synonyms, analogies and reverse analogies, sentence correction, facts inference judgments, critical reasoning, fill in the blanks, syllogism, summary questions, passage based questions.
Section II: Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning Syllabus
In this section II, the questions are the topics of Area graph, Venn diagram, Line and Pie Charts, Column and Bar graphs, Case lets and Tables.
Section III: Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus
In this section III, the questions are of the following topics of Mathematics are asked: Number system, Geometry, Algebra, Permutation and Combination, Mixtures and Allegations, Ratio & Proportion, Logarithm, Time & Work, Functions, Trigonometry, Coordinate Geometry and Mensuration.
